Translate My Blog

Translate

I have thought about this ever since I started using Google Analytics, and I have finally decided to give it a shot. Most of my visitors are from the United States, followed by Europe. When looking at the world map at Google analytics, I always think about the potential visitors from other countries, which don’t come here, because of the langue barrier. Although many people comprehend English, I am certain a lot of them, prefer to read text in their own langue. So I thought about getting my articles translated into as many different languages as possible. Obviously I don’t have the skills or the time to do so. So here is an offer to those of you, who can do a perfect translation into another language. You do a free translation and I give you a link back. You choose which article you want to translate. Just let me confirm it before you start. You can throw a comment or sent me an email.

Good that you’re using real people to translate. I tried the Google translation for one of my blogs, and it was terrible. I can read German, so I can tell. (Sorry, I don’t speak it well enough to translate for you…)

Well I don´t know if I am, yet :) But I hope so. But yes. I have tried different types of automatic translation, including babelfish, altavista, and a few other ones, and they really don’t work very good! Personal translation or no translation. Time will tell.

While the translators sometimes mix up content, they’re still worth a try! Allow me to be so blod as to ask you to take a look at an article I recently posted on the same subject: It’s entitled “Blogspeak.”

    Hi Dave,
First of all, thanks a lot for the link! I have not had time to read the post yet, and I am going to work right now. But I will read it as soon as I get home.

Robot translators make people laugh because they’re stupid as hell. Ofcourse they are but they’re free right? I think it’s better to do as Jakob does rather than use automatic translators.

Why don’t you consider using babelfish altavista free translation services. I know you don’t have much time but translating your articles there won’t require much time. Also they can translate a the whole webpage for you. That would be a better and faster way of translating.

i have noticed the visits from all over the globe. I have wondered if the translator plugin would increase readership.

I don’t usually read blogs that are not in English or those that I don’t really understand. I know there are translators but errrr, I don’t know if the translations are correct or not. ^_^

I have a friend that has a pretty long blog in French. We looked at babelfish hoping it would get across the basics of what he was trying to say but it pretty much failed. It seems like babelfish hasnt really improved in the ten years or so its been out there.
