Please remind me to..

If you know what Lucid Dreaming is, then you probably also know the term “Reality Check”. To do a reality check several times a day can pretty easily be forgotten. Every time you go to bed, you realize you haven’t been doing your checks throughout the day, and you feel annoyed because this will slow down the process of learning how to reach lucidity. Because of this you want something to remind you to do reality checks several times a day. Well if you spend a few hours in front of your computer everyday, my brother’s new program might be just what you need. It is a small program called “Discreet Reminder”, which is exactly what it is! There are tons of similar programs out there. I have just never found any that I really liked. They always seems to be too much, one way or another. Discreet Reminder is a small icon in the system tray, which will flash in a non-annoying way, as often as you want it to. No pop-ups or text, just simple and discreet. However, this is not a reminder for your entire to-do-list, since it only gives one-kind of flash, so there will be no way determining one reminder from another, besides from dragging the mouse on top of the icon (this will show the text you have written).
How does it work? First click here to download the file. Unzip it and open the file “reminders.xml” in notepad. There are two reminders configured already. You can change them or add new ones as you like. The xml format should be pretty self-explanatory. Change the interval to the amount of minutes which should pass before the icon should start flashing.
A last note, Discreet Reminder requires the .NET framework 2.0 to run. Download from here.
That’s it. Try it, and let me know what you think.

Thanks for making this. It looks awesome. All the other reality testing programs were too intrusive - this one looks very promising!
