Contest Time

If you have been visiting JakobDK.com before, you can probably tell that I have been making a few changes to the design of this blog. I am still not done redesigning, and it will probably take a few more days before it will be finished. However, what I am mostly concerned about is the header imager. I can’t tell if I am satisfied or not. I keep changing my mind. So I will leave this up to you guys. You will have a chance to win the last 125*125 ad box in my sidebar, for one month. To win this contest, all you have to do, is add my site to your RSS reader, and make a comment with suggestions to my layout and possible changes which you find appropriate. In other words, you don’t need a blog to enter this contest. However, writing a blog post about this contest and linking to it will increase you chance of winning. The contest will end at the 28th of March. Make sure to write a valid email address in the comment field so I can contact you if you are the lucky winner. Good luck to all of you.

    The idea of changing the blogs regularly is a wise decision. This not only promotes the business but also creates a good impression on the viewers. The idea of header is perfect.

    Great contest! I just subscribed to your feed. Here are my thoughts on your layout.

    I really like the header image, and I don’t think you need to change a thing about it - except to link it back to the home page. I had to delete the end of your URL to get back to the homepage, as I found no link to go there automatically.

    You should make your RSS feed links more obvious by putting up an orange feed button. Also, consider putting your Archives on a page all their own. If you use Wordpress, there’s a great plugin called Clean Archives. It’s what I use on my blog. I would remove the Archives from your footer. They are taking up too much space, and oftentimes, your visitors won’t go all the way to the bottom of a page.

    Sorry if I seem too critical. I just always try to provide suggestions when I have them. I think your blog looks fantastic, and I look forward to seeing what else you do to it. :)

    You have a lot of good points. Thanks for sharing. As you can tell, I am still working on the layout. I have to get used to this new sidebar, using widgets. I guess it should make everything a lot more easy, but I actually find it a bit complicated to work with..

    To improve the buisness one should regularly change the blogs. Viewers will be interested and will have a good impression.

    I think you should make your two sidebars narrower, as they currently draw the attention away from the blog. Wish me luck!
