Ad Spots And BlogRush
Posted on September 17, 2007

As you can see, I have now added a new widget to my sidebar. First of all, I have changed my two ad spots. Since they haven’t been sold, I decided to use them as free links, for the time being. The first spot goes to Daniel from Marketfederation. He has been an active visitor here at my blog, helping me out with inbound links, and most importantly, he runs a very cool blog. The Second spot is linking to Louis from Blogging Secrets, since he suggested a link exchange. I look forward to see how this works out. Now back to the BlogRush. As you can see, below the ad spots, there is a new widget, which is called the BlogRush. John Reese is the creator of this viral marketing widget, which, according to John, can boost your traffic. Since this is still fairly new, I will not give my own opinion about this yet. But I will try it for a period, and let you all know how it works out. The system does look pretty neat. Check it out, here.

Hey Jakob, thank your a linkback and please check your mailbox.
OK I don’t know what the hell was that but I ment to say “thanks for a backlink”, doh.
Daniel,
Thats ok :) I got it! And thank you! Both for the link and for the referrel link, and finally for the tip on blogrush.
BlogRush has gotten quite a bit of favorable reviews!
I will check out Blog Rush, many thanks.
And yet so many are not getting results from it… Clicktrough rates are too low.
Thanks I will check it out too.
I’m not overly keen on Blog Rush. I think you really need to be a big-time blogger to get anything from it. Wish you luck though.
There has been a lot of discusion about blog rush last days. I would hope that there is going to be some mechanism in place to ensure that the only blogs appearing in the wake it are those which have the widget appearing on their blogs.
BlogRush is just too tempting to not try, even if CTR are bad… I think they will improve quickly
No do not be fooled. Blogrush is a scam. don’t do it.
Big time bloggers won’t even consider installing BlogRush on their blogs and Peons won’t stand a chance because of their low traffic so it’s really all about the middle ones and their linkbait titles.
i have joint, let`s see how much traffic we get.
Actually quite a few big time bloggers have installed it, and it’s bringing traffic to them. It doesn’t really cost anyone anything. People condemn it because it isn’t the ’secret’ that will make junk websites get traffic. You have to take it for what it is, a tool to leverage your existing traffic to get a little more traffic.
Well thank you for all the feedback, guys. As many of you are mentioning, CTR is way too low! Some might argue that even though it is low, it is worth it. A few clicks from several different places, ads up, right? Right! But since I like to have my page simple, I don’t want to stuff it with lots of ads and so on. However, if BlogRush actually could bring it a lot of visitors, the space would be worth it. But since the CTR is as low as it is, I have decided to stop using it. BlogRush was all hype! The intention of it was good. It just does not work in real life. Think about it for a second. Have you actually clicked BlogRush just one time, yet? Didn’t think so..
I used BlogRush recently and got some 100 credits but I dint get any traffic from them.. even one… so I removed that on the same day…
If you don’t get backlinks from it, nor traffic, then what is such a thing for? The more links there are in a blog (and most are ridiculously cluttered), the less likely someone is to click on such a thing.
Reminds me of Linkomatic from the old days. Made money for the inventors, everyone else got spammed.
I will indefinitely try out this new feature.
Thanks for making aware about Blog Rush
Yeah BlogRush sucks =)
It had potential but people expected too much from it.
