Why Analysing Dreams is not Possible

Yesterday when I was surfing the net, I came across this page. They have a section called the Dream Dictionary, which is a list of several different words, and a description of the effect it will have in real life if this occurred in your dream. This reminded me of a book I bought some years ago, about Dream Analyzing. Actually I bought the book by mistake, as I thought the theme was about Lucid Dreaming. I have never really believed in Dream analyzing, and it have never caught my attention, as I have always thought of it as being something for the spiritual minded people. When I started reading about Lucid Dreaming, I had a similar feeling, however it sounded great, so I decided to try it out. Understanding that Lucid dreaming actually was possible, was a remarkable experience. It has made it even clearer to me why such analyzing cannot possibly be trustworthy. I know there might be some of you out there who disagree, but that is what I believe.
At the Dream Dictionary page there are several different descriptions of words. Here are three of them:
Bakery
Dreaming of a modern day bakery with all the good smells and smiling people denotes much richness and success for you. To dream you are making the bread shows you will be making more money in your endeavors.
Lights
A light shining out of the dark, or a flashlight beam, shows that you will finally find the truth in a situation or the answer to a personal problem that you have been searching for. If the light is dim, you will only find part of the solution.
Driving
If you dream that you are driving a vehicle it is a sign that you should be careful to take no chances with your money, such as gambling, in the next two weeks or so. If someone else is doing the driving you will find yourself in luck, money wise. To dream of driving in the driving rain must be interpreted by using the condition of the rain, either murky or clear, to get a better meaning.
When having a lucid dream, you know that you are dreaming, hence you can control the dream and do whatever you feel like. Obviously, if these signs would have any effect on your real life whatsoever, you would be able to perfectly control the future of your own life, by choosing the signs you feel like, when having a lucid dream. Simply think of all the things you would like to happen in your life, find the “sign” for this to happen, and make them appear in your dream while being lucid. So if you want to become rich, simply just rebuild your entire city into buildings filled up with bakeries. Answer your personal problems by waving your magic wand and make an extra sun appear, and be sure to make it shine 24 hours a day. There you go. Great days for the rest of your life, without any problems. Of course this is not possible and I guess that people who believe in this would argue, that these signs can be interpreted differently, just like tarot reading, astrology, clairvoyance etc. which is why it won’t work like this. To me, this seems to always be the main problem in the world of spirituality. By making an explanation extremely versatile, it will adopt to a lot of people. If you want to believe in it, you can easily get some kind of sense out of it. To me, it seems nuts. Stop trying to analyze your dream, and start controlling it. Learn lucid dreaming and you will have the time of your life.

although, there are those of us that believe we can control our own fate to the degree that you mention in this article
but yeah
dream interpretation is all up to the interpreter and you (the one that has to decide how to interpret the interpretation)
but i dont fuck with the future too much
its all an undetermined science in my opinion
one last thing
lucid dreaming rocks my world man
I don’t know if dream analysis is possible or practical - I’m no psychologist. But I do know one thing: it won’t predict the future! There’s a world of difference between using dreams to analyse one’s current state of mind or body, and using analysis as a form of fortune-telling. Interesting, nevertheless.
I have a new one for you. I have been working on taking control of my dreams. I have for some time been able to realize that I am having a nightmare and trying to wake myself up but now I am working on changing the pattern of the dream when I realize it is a dream i.e. turning the bad guy into a pizza head. Not too much luck yet but since my doctor put me on a med that causes nightmares I have plenty to work with!
A good video about dreams that I just watched is Remembering and Interpreting Dreams on YouTube. The author, Dr. Judith Orloff has written many books which explain how dreams are our intuition and explain how our intuition plays a significant role in our physical, sexual and mental health. I hope you find it interesting.
